Khmer cuisine

And now, ladies and gentlemen, a bit of a woman's touch with a post written by Celine and dedicated to khmer cuisine!
Yes, I wanted to write something a bit different on this blog to emphasize an important side of each traveller's life: food.
Cambodia has a very nice cuisine. Either in street eateries or in restaurants. For you to see some specialities, we took some pictures (some from a high-quality restaurant that we did once on a special occasion) :
Green mangos and papaya salad, crab salad, spring rolls:

Lok lak: pieces of beef, with a delicious sauce composed of Kampot pepper, and generally served with an egg, and steamed rice of course...

Amok: traditional khmer curry, made of coconut milk and different spices, usually with fish or chicken, sometimes served in a banana leaf:

Desserts (quite rare in fact, Cambodian people don't eat much sweet, though you can find easily some croissants for breakfast...): banana cake, coconut cake, mango ice-cream:

And of course, fresh fruit shakes and juices: coconut, mangos, pineapple, orange, lemon, watermelon, dragon fruit, papaya... a pure delice!

And all that for a price ranging from $2 to $4 for a neal and drinks! Same as a cornet de frites actually!
By the way, I'm coming back tomorrow to the cheese and wine country, and Manu will be continuing to Laos, see you!
